LG 32QK500-W QHD Gaming Monitor Delivers AMD FreeSync Goodness For $300

If you are running an AMD Radeon graphics card and want a high-resolution monitor that supports FreeSync, LG has a new offering that won't break the bank called the 32QK500-W. This is a 32-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) LED IPS monitor with a 75Hz refresh rate.

It covers 72% of the NTSC color gamut (approximately 100% sRGB coverage) and supports 1.07 billion colors. The monitor offers a 16:9 aspect ratio and has a brightness rating of 250cd/m2 minimum and 300cd/m2 typical. The contrast ratio is 700:1 minimum and 1000:1 typical with viewing angles of 178-degrees in all directions. LG lists the GtG response time at 8ms and pixel pitch is 0.2727 x 0.2727mm.

LG fitted the display with a pair of HDMI inputs, a display port input, mini DisplayPort input, and a headphone output. For those concerned about power consumption, in sleep mode, it consumes less than 0.5W with a typical power consumption of 46W and max power consumption of 50W. Other special features of the display include FreeSync, black stabilizer, dynamic action sync, crosshair overlay, flicker safe mode, reader mode, and the display has on-screen controls.

The Dynamic Action Sync feature removes some of the internal image processing to reduce lag when it is activated. Black Stabilizer inserts a black image between frames to reduce motion blur. With the stand attached the 32QK500 is 28.5" W x 23.6" H x 8.4" D and weighs 19.6 pounds. The stand is LG's Edge-ArcLine unit, and the display is wall or arm mountable with a 100 x 100 mm mount. LG's 32QK500-W display sells for the equivalent of $307 in Japan, and the price is expected to be $299 in the US when it lands; an exact launch date is unknown.
