The XFX HD-687A-ZHFC is based on AMD's  video chipset, one of the upper-midrange offerings in its new 6000 series.

The card is loaded with 1,120 stream processing units, a 900MHz core clock, and a 1,050MHz memory clock. It also has a 256-bit memory interface and 1GB of GDDR5 RAM. As is true of all cards based on AMD's 6000-series GPUs, the XFX HD-687A-ZHFC supports DirectX 11, OpenGL 4.1, and AMD's proprietary CrossFireX (for running multiple cards) and Eyefinity (for running multiple monitors) technologies.

Like many more powerful cards, the XFX HD-687A-ZHFC consumes two PCI Express slots in your PC: one for the card itself, and one to accommodate its large heat sink. Its rear bracket provides five output ports: one HDMI, two Mini DisplayPort, and two DVI (one single-link, one dual-link). It is capable of displaying resolutions up to 2,560 by 1,600.
